Thank you Rose. I do think it’s important not to be mushy when discussing topics related to energies and consciousness, and so I appreciate that you’ve made these corrections and disambiguations.
I have encountered this ‘it’s all the same’ notion from a number of folks over the years (I don’t care for it, I consider it a kind of anti-intellectualism) and I don’t want to contribute further to its heft in Collective Consciousness by mixing things up myself.

I’ve been thinking for a while about what I learned from Energy Spirituality® in 2025.
If it isn’t too late to comment, what made the biggest impression on me? It was how “Finally, The Name “Energy Spirituality” Makes Sense.”

So that article, that knowledge, stood out for you too, MARY?
In my experience, innovation doesn’t come instantaneously. The name ” Energy Spirituality®” was quite a stretch for me.
Although I cocreated this field and began offering personal sessions in 1986, the first name(s) I gave this kind of helping? They weren’t keepers.
The work is still green-and-growing, the skills too. (Plus, more are added with each passing year.) Yet finding a name for this field was daunting.
All my naming struggles took place before I began this Energy Spirituality® Blog in September, 2007.
I supppose I’d have kept better track if it had occurred to me that all this could be important.
Important? Ha!
I just knew that helping clients in the way I began to do seemed important to them, MARY, and also to me.
This, important to other people? Huh?
Let alone the idea that after the Shift into the Age of Awakening (Dec. 21, 2012) – a bit more than five years later, that Energy Spirituality® could play a historic role.
Initially, of course, my inspiration for naming was my friend Donna Eden. At the time, we had become close.
(Although, sadly, by now, we’re not in touch. This might have something to do with the Consciousness Lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction.
I knew Donna Eden as an inspired-and-inspiring, generous leader. At first she called her field Energy Medicine.
Later, she branded it as Eden Energy Medicine. Hey, understanding copycat problems, for many years I branded Energy Sprituality as “Rosetree Energy Spirituality.”
At the time I began using the name “Energy Spirituality,” holistic healing dominated the thinking of self-actualizing people.
It was (what I’d later call) “The New Age Years.” These years lasted from 1980 until the Shift into the Age of Awakening, Dec. 21, 2012. Learn more about this transitional time from “Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening”.
Back in the day, as a New Ager, I thought, “Wow!”
* My friend, Donna Eden, brought the world Energy Medicine.
* Her brilliant husband, David Feinstein, brought the world Energy Psychology.
How lovely that I could complete the body-mind-spirit offerings by calling my field “Energy Spirituality“!
The next time I saw both of them, I asked for their blessing. Being, as always, very scrupulous about intellectual property. And these two were the ones to bring the world “Energy Medicine” and “Energy Psychology.”
Donna agreed enthusiastically. She was a big fan of my book, “Aura Reading Through All Your Senses.”
And David went along politely.
In case any of you readers lived through these two portentous times in American society, two big-deal trends emerged among idealists. New trends. Portentous, as in bringing a sense of historic advancement toward a better future for humanity.
Of course, Evangelicalism and other trends were perennials.
Here’s my personal perspective on these portentous times, important because of what was happening in consciousness at the time.
In preparation for the Shift into the Age of Awakening, big changes to consciousness were accelerating.
Of course, from the 1800s on, in America there have always been social fads, like the most popular songs and the clothing styles, etc.
What was different about the years from 1960 until the Shift?
The Psychic Barrier was thinning, faster and faster. Long ago, the Mayans had foretold the end of their calendar on Dec. 21, 2012.
Changes were in motion. Consciousness changes!
In my lived awareness, starting in the 1960’s, two big fads emerged, based in how spiritual awareness, consciousness, was waking up.
* In the 1960s, many spiritual seekers became hippies.
* By the 70’s, many of us were into meditation and yoga.
Do some of you readers remember any of this? It felt portentous, not only because we were young and idealistic. Seems to me, these new ways of living involved waking up our spiritual consciousness – to a degree that was unprecedented on Earth.
* The 1980s and 1990s could have been called “The Oprah Years,” in addition to my preferred name for that era, “The New Age Years.”
From my perspective, Oprah Winfrey shared different ways to grow, mostly emotionally, but with an idea that somehow all the ideas she advocated were spiritually important as well.
Oprah’s fans may miss how “everybody” was watching Oprah’s show.
She made personal growth seem accessible to everybody, emotionally interesting, and ultimately easy. Like how, one happy day, every member of her studio audience received a shiny, new Pontiac car.
Seemed to me, Oprah’s message went like this: Hey, if you did the same kinds of inner work as Oprah, you might just peek under your seat at home, and you might win becoming self-actualized, right away. Here are your keys!
Self-actualized, yet humble, like Oprah. (Supposedly.)

Inspired by my work with my clients (and by cocreating with Divine Beings) the decades rolled on by.
It wasn’t until last year that I finally understood what you just wrote about, MARY.
Energy Spirituality® is spirituality for the Age of Awakening.
Since I’ve been working in this field, it has dawned on many people – not just me – that a person can benefit by living as Spiritual But Not Religious. (Still a shocking idea to many devout people, shocking and despicable! Fools doomed to live for eternity in the hot-and-smelly place.)
It was another step forward to recognize, in 2025, some possibilities that are even more shocking.
Once folks have developed the knack of living in the Age of Awakening, will we even require RELIGION? And will self-actualizing people even have need of PSYCHOLOGY and POP PSYCHOLOGY?
Sure, I expect that psychology and psychiatry, and psychiatric medications, will continue into the Age of Awakening. But psychology for folks who can be called “The Worried Well”?
That is people trying to do better. But able to live pretty darned well in reality.
If I were in the business of making predictions – which I’m really not, MARY and other Blog-Buddies – this would be my prognostication:
In the Age of Awakening, many systems like Energy Spirituality® will emerge:
* God will be sought after as an experience, not mainly a reassuring faith.
* Good skills of energetic literacy will become as widespread as word literacy is now.
Why not have both? They’re actually very compatible.
* Teachers like me will emerge to help spiritual seekers to learn effective ways to cocreate with God.
* And millions of people may move into Spiritual Enlightenment, in our lifetimes. (Although this won’t happen automatically, or by using the obsolete methods now taught by the Enlightenment Establishment.)
Spirituality for the Age of Awakening:
I may be the first person to teach innovations for that, innovations that work.
I may be the first such teacher, but I sure won’t be the last.
