Deeper Perception Made Practical

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Which Is Better?

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Learning how to use either skill can change your life for the better.

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading: Which Is Better? Ten examples can help you appreciate when it’s preferable to use each one. Since these are two very different skills.

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Both similar and different! When is the best time to use which one?

As always, as you read this blogpost, don’t be shy. COMMENT below with your yesses, your but-but-but’s, any reactions at all. Please feel free to include stories from when you have given — or received — a Skilled Empath Merge.

Inspiring this Post, Chris Asked an Excellent Question

In your book, “Empath Empowerment in 30 Days,” you talk about a technique you call the Skilled Empath Merge. Is that sort of like an aura reading? If not, how is it different?

Amazingly, nobody had asked me this before.

  • Even though I started writing books and teaching the system of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses® in the 1990’s.
  • While I published my first book about Empath Empowerment®, including how to do Skilled Empath Merge in 2001.

Yoicks!

Useful Background on Both Systems for Deeper Perception

If you’re a beginner at understanding either Skilled Empath Merge or Aura Reading, start here:

Now Let’s Explore Which Skill to Use When

Because it’s a choice. You know this, right?

For quality aura reading, don’t just slip into it. Purposely use an effective technique. To understand this distinction better, just check out these three quick videos:

As for doing Skilled Empath Merge, that’s a choice too. Please, no casual ooching in and out. That way you’d be doing unskilled empath merge. Another thing entirely:

  • Unskilled empath merge is inaccurate
  • AND confusing.
  • Worst of all, you’ll junk yourself up with “Imported STUFF in your Aura.”
  • Every single time!

All that said, let’s get to your fun choices here regarding practical alternatives.

Skilled Empath Merge Vs. Aura Reading. Example 1.

If You Are Not an Empath

Maybe this seems obvious. But it’s important. Unless you’re among the 1 in 20 people born as an empath, no question. You can learn the amazing system of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses.

But don’t kid yourself about learning the skills of Empath Empowerment. Not possible, not unless you were born as an empath.

For that, book a personal session with me. Early on, ask me to research your lifelong degree of sensitivity. There are only good answers here, since each degree of sensitivity brings benefits in life. So fear not.

Afterward, beyond that research, yes! During your session, we’ll have plenty of time for some helpful assistance, such as Energy Spirituality ENERGY HEALING. Such as what you can read about at the link just provided.

Skilled Empath Merge Versus. Aura Reading. Example 2.

If You Are Not Yet a SKILLED Empath

Born empaths are not born Skilled Empaths. Before you can enjoy any of the benefits of doing Skilled Empath Merge, gain the benefits of Empath Empowerment®.

At the link just provided you’ll go to a special website I’ve developed just for empaths. Start by watching the short videos. Then branch out to read other sections of “What Is an Empath?

Important info you won’t find elsewhere!

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Example 3.

If You Would Like to Hasten Your Spiritual Evolution

Both Aura Reading Through All Your Senses® AND Empath Empowerment® can help you in that department.

However, if you have learned any techniques for Skilled Empath Merge? You’ll grow extra fast.

Skilled Empath Merge Vs. Aura Reading. Example 4.

You’d Like to Learn More about Your Latest Crush

I’d recommend aura reading for this. You can gain so much information, and learn it at a distance. Will there or won’t there be a second date?

Besides, reading that person’s aura early on in the relationship is really smart. So helpful, especially if you’re already crushing on that individual.

Meanwhile, why don’t I recommend doing a Skilled Empath Merge? Because that relationship is already quite personal to you. Your interest in Discovery Person Sam or Gladys… could distort what you’d learn from the far more personal experience of doing research via Skilled Empath Merge.

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Example 5.

You’d Like to Get on the Wavelength of Somebody at Work

Not that you’d do this face-to-face.

Cleverly, find a usable photo of this important person at work. Then do a Skilled Empath Merge.

If all you can do are aura readings, that can prove super-helpful too. All I’m saying here is that, for this purpose, Skilled Empath Merges would be better. Assuming you’ve learned this kind of skill.

Skilled Empath Merge Vs. Aura Reading. Example 6.

Hiring a Psychotherapist, Spiritual Teacher, etc.

Definitely choose aura reading. No matter how prestigious an expert’s credentials, you have no idea what a mess can lurk in some of that person’s chakra databanks. For details, check out aura readings in comments at “Enlightenment Teacher OR Coach OR Guide.

Some days are diamonds, some days are stones.

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Example 7.

If You Dislike Someone, Avoid Skilled Empath Merge

Aura reading will serve your purposes better. Learn from more of a distance. Of course, using the system of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses, as with any of the techniques for Skilled Empath Merge in “The Master Empath,” you’re always cocreating with God. Either way, you’re protected.

Especially if you wish to protect yourself from TMI, up close and personal, hello! Before doing Skilled Empath Merge with anyone, start by aura-researching a couple of chakra databanks. The experience of Aura Reading is far less intimate.

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Example 8.

You’re an Animal Lover

Skilled Empath Merge will tell you a lot. Maybe more than you expect. Particularly about how difference the consciousness of an animal is… Compared to the many ways that people anthropomorphize animals, imagining whatever they choose.

Incidentally, I do not teach skills for aura reading in order to learn about animals. As a point of information, animal intuitives can receive a great deal of information. But that’s due to being involved with psychic work, beholden to discarnate spirits. (Not recommended since the Shift into the Age of Awakening, due to problems you would likely develop related to consciousness lifestyle.)

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Example 9.

You Love the Flowers, You Love the Daffodils

What if your personal gift set as an empath includes being a Plant Empath?

Delightful as it can be to do Aura Bounce and Aura Rub (skills of “Aura Reading Through All Your Senses” — among the 100+ techniques taught in that book)…

You can learn sooooo much more about the consciousness of a particular flower or tree from doing a Skilled Empath Merge. To this Plant Empath, it’s bliss!

Skilled Empath Merge Versus Aura Reading. Example 10.

Fulfill the Spiritual Purpose of Being Born an Empath

Not everybody on Earth created a Life Contract where you would incarnate as an empath. Only 1 in 20 people, remember?

Especially good to know, if YOU happen to be a born empath:

  • Although you can have a GREAT LIFE as a Skilled Empath…
  • Until you learn how to do Skilled Empath Merge…
  • And you actually do it, maybe once a week or so…
  • You’re missing out on an extraordinary spiritual privilege.

Now It’s Your Turn, Blog-Buddies

How has it been for you:

  • Doing good quality aura reading?
  • Or receiving one?
  • Facilitating a Skilled Empath Merge?
  • Or receiving one?

Time to share. Time to ask. And maybe simply time to express some gratitude.

Personally, I don’t think I can imagine what my life would be like without knowing these skills. And using them. Definitely, for me, the most important word here is G*R*A*T*I*T*U*D*E.

I love the banner in your photo, Rose. What a lovely surprise when popping into the blog this morning, to see a photo of you in action!

And the red hair! It reminds me of the characters in your book “The Roar of the Huntids” and how they can change their hair colour so easily.

  2. 2

EMILY TURNER, I’m glad you’ve read that novel of spiritual awakening for an empath. Yes, “The Roar of the Huntids” was set in the faraway future year of 2020. One could go to health centers and change the color of skin and eyes as well.

    Emily Turner says:

I’m so grateful to you, Rose, for having created such a structured and easy way to learn how to do a Skilled Empath Merge.

    Emily Turner says:

I remember back in 2012 when you were at the College of Psychic Studies in London and I first learned how to do Skilled Empath Merge and got to practice with a fellow student.

    Effortless fun!

  5. 5

Yes, we go back a long ways. It was sweet of the College of Psychic Studies to sponsor me for workshops and sessions, even though I wasn’t a psychic.

And that’s right, you learned Skilled Empath Merge before the Shift into the Age of Awakening.

    Melissa says:

This article is so practical. It reminded me of a cookbook.

  7. 7

MELISSA, thank you. For sure, both Aura Reading Through All Your Senses® and Empath Empowerment® are totally practical: Both how I teach them and the many applications for these skills.

For instance, the how-to book on “Aura Reading Through All Your Senses” includes more than 100 practical techniques. Or recipes, you could call them. ;-)

Thank you for this really helpful blog post. Hastening my spiritual evolution sounds GREAT!

  9. 9

ERIN, you’re welcome. Too many folks think reading auras is all about colors. As if!

I wish more people like you would find out what aura reading can really deliver, and the same for Skilled Empath Merge.

I take this article as a great opportunity to ask about some of the empath teachings out there today. Maybe it could be kind of like all the Enlightenment Teachers you’ve been writing about at “Enlightenment Coach Or” etc.

    Ryan B. says:

I have a few empath teachers in mind. Not that I have been studying with them, no way.

I just think it would be interesting to get your reactions to some of these things that aren’t Empath Empowerment by a long shot.

    Ryan B. says:

    Thanks in advance, Rose.

Empaths deserve better than this kind of absorbing idea, don’t you think?

  14. 14

RYAN B., I think this is a great idea. Comparing this approach to Empath Empowerment, let’s start with the title of this article you mentioned:

““Being An Empath: 7 Ways To Stop Absorbing Other People’s Emotions”

  15. 15

For you as a consumer, here are two really important question to ask of any empath teacher:

    1. How does that empath expert define being an empath?
    2. Does that empath therapist or empath guide or empath whatever who teaches others… include how to do Skilled Empath Merge?

  16. 16

From her website, I learn that Keir Brady is a therapist, a marriage and family therapist. She comes across as being a kind and caring person. Nonetheless…

Her training isn’t about being an empath at all. She offers:

  17. 17

    * Brainspotting
    * Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
    * Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy

  18. 18

No wonder Ms. Brady defines being an empath emotionally. However, from my perspective this is terribly incomplete.

Instead, here’s how my definition goes:

  19. 19

According to the system of Empath Empowerment®, an empath has at least one lifelong gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be other people.

In “Empath Empowerment in 30 Days” I elaborate by listing and defining 15 different empath gifts.

  20. 20

Every single one of those empath gifts counts as a valid way of “being an empath.”

To be clear, one wonders how much Psychotherapist Keir knows about empath anything. According to my extensive research which led to trademarking the system of Empath Empowerment®, only 2 of these 15 empath gifts involve emotions. Quite some difference there, RYAN and other empaths!

  21. 21

Regarding the second question, does Psychotherapist Keir even mention Skilled Empath Merge? Let alone do it.

    Nope.

  22. 22

According to her website, Keir is a “therapist in Marietta, Georgia.” She has published one book: “A Year Of Gratitude Journal.”

This daybook aims to “Open the door to deeper self-esteem and a happier outlook with this yearlong gratitude journal.” (Okay, says the author of four books currently available for learning about Empath Empowerment®.)

  23. 23

Let’s go into specifics about how this therapist describes being an empath. I’ll take one statement at a time:

    1. If you are an empath, you can easily identify with and experience another’s feelings.

  24. 24

If you are human, you have mirror neurons: Scientists say that these “could help explain how we learn through mimicry and why we empathize with others.”

Thus, mirror neurons are just one reason why every single human with normal mental functioning can feel empathy. No wonder, the word empath is different from the word empathy!

  25. 25

    2. “Empathy can be a very good quality as it can help you connect with others through a deep level of understanding.”

This, according to Psychotherapist Keir. I do appreciate, based on personal experience, how somebody who is relatively new to helping empaths… can mix in the word “empathy.”

  26. 26

Hey, I made this very same rookie mistake when I published the first book in English for empaths and titled it, “Empowered by Empathy.”

After several rewritings over the years, my current version of this first book for empaths is called, “Empath Empowerment in 30 Days.”

  27. 27

However my mistake of conflating empath and empathy… was made in 2001. By now, Amazon.com sells over 8,000 THOUSAND books for empaths. I wonder if Psychotherapist Keir has read any of them.

  28. 28

    3. According to Keir, “You probably have good intuition, are a natural nurturer, and exude a healing energy.”

Oboy! Why imagine that empaths are unique in having “good intuition” or “exude a healing energy.” The same could be said of all human beings with normal mental health… being applicable ever since the Shift into the Age of Awakening.

  29. 29

As for her pronouncement about every empath being a natural nurturer?

I’m sooooooooo skeptical. For one thing, “being” a nurturer doesn’t mean that the person does anything to help anyone. Nurturing is a verb. Unless you’re describing traditional stereotypes about mothers.

  30. 30

Yet all women who give birth may not include “nurturing my child” in their personal job descriptions.

Likewise, in my experience as an Empath Coach, given the 15 different empath gifts I’ve recognized in various clients and students over the decades, “nurturing” really isn’t an attribute that goes automatically with any empath gift, not even the two related to emotions, Emotional Intuition and Emotional Oneness.

  31. 31

    4. Also according to Keir, “Being around joyful, excited people energizes you and makes you feel good.”

Maybe this generalization makes her work seem relatable, but otherwise how helpful is this? IMO, not.

  32. 32

I wonder if this self-proclaimed empath expert has ever watched a group of two-year-olds, when having fun.

Personally, I am never impressed when self-proclaimed empath experts voice cliches like this one… and then use those cliches to define what it means to be human. Joke! I meant, to define what it means to be an empath.

  33. 33

    5. This statement from Keir is my favorite of her set of six ways of describing what it means to be an empath. Not that I agree with her completely, but it’s an okay start.

Not to get ahead of myself, RYAN and other Blog-Buddies, she has written:

  34. 34

“The difficult part of being empathic is that you also pick up on the negative energy and feelings of sadness and despair.”

I do agree that ONE of the difficult aspects of being an empath is… that every single unskilled empath does innumerable unskilled empath merges daily. And these lead to Imported STUFF loading in the empath’s aura.

  35. 35

However, this empath adviser offers such a vague, incomplete, an inaccurate version of this fact of life for empaths… Inadvertently she has disqualified herself as a helper to empaths, assuming that an empath acts like a smart consumer and pays attention to how any empath expert defines being an empath in the first place.

  36. 36

In case you’re wondering, RYAN and other Blog-Buddies, what are some other difficult aspects of being an empath?

Some are directly related to which empath gift — or gifts — that particular empath has. For instance, someone with Animal Empath Talent may have difficulty witnessing a pet that isn’t being well cared for.

  37. 37

This might include walking past the apartment of somebody who has a neglected dog… and, although that empath doesn’t even know there’s a dog nearby, that empath may do many an unskilled empath merge whenever walking by that apartment.

Blog-Buddies, you can see from this example that certain difficulties are unique to the unskilled empath’s particular set of gifts as an empath.

  38. 38

What’s a more common aspect of being an empath that brings problems?

Until an unskilled empath becomes a Skilled Empath, the sense of self is weak and distorted… compared with what it could be. How come? Due to the subconscious and energetic consequences of doing all those unskilled empath merges.

  39. 39

    6. Related to her previous pronouncement about problems that Keir (erroneously) thinks that exclusively happen to empaths….

“This can lead to problems with anxiety and depression when it is hard to separate yourself from the unpleasant emotions of others.”

  40. 40

Spoken like a professional psychotherapist, indeed. Supposedly, “it is hard to separate yourself from the unpleasant emotions of others.”

As a therapist, Keir might teach this skill to her clients. It might fall under the category of “boundary work,” which so many empath experts who are into psychology can teach their clients.

  41. 41

FWIW, I never teach empaths boundary work. Period.

On the other hand, if you’d like my opinion of teaching boundary work to empaths, do I ever have a blogpost for you! Simply click on the link just provided and settle in for an educational read.

  42. 42

RYAN, there’s one last kind of commenting that I would like to do on this self-appointed helper for those who have problems with “Being an Empath.” I’m going to research what her empath gifts are, based on Keir Brady’s photo that appears on her page at LinkedIn.

This next link will take you to her photo.

  43. 43

Well, this aura research will not take much time for you Blog-Buddies to read. I was prepared to do a thorough research on all empath gifts, just to see what she has…

Not that I would do this research for an empath who asked me for this. But on occasion I will do this about a public figure.

  44. 44

Anyway, I decided to start researching Keir Brady’s empath gifts by exploring her score on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE.

Sigh! Best I can find out, she scores 2 out of 20. Plainly put, she’s no empath. Actually, she’s a Highly INsensitive Person. The only kind of person who is less sensitive scores a 1 out of 20, and is what I call a Highly, Highly INsensitive Person.

  45. 45

Increasingly, Blog-Buddies, in recent years, I’ve encountered many self-authorized empath experts who are not, personally, wired for life with even one single empath gift.

I am very grateful for taking your online Aura Reading Workshops, Rose.

I didn’t realize how effortless and accurate aura reading could be, not until I learned proper skills from you.

  47. 47
    Henry says:

Good quality aura reading doesn’t require clairvoyance.

It’s almost comical to me that so many people settle for calling a person’s aura red or green or whatever. As if Stage 1 Energetic Literacy counted as good quality aura reading.

  48. 48
    Henry says:

What about receiving good quality aura reading? You could have come up with the expression “High Truth Value” just for that.

I love in when you read people’s chakra databanks during my personal Energy Spirituality sessions. When you’re telling me about somebody who isn’t me and also when you’re helping me to understand myself better.

  49. 49

Thank you so much, HENRY. I like how you brought in that term of art from Energy Spirituality, “High Truth Value.

    Ryan B. says:

Hey, that was even more interesting than I thought it would be.

Keir Brady isn’t even an empath herself? Mercy me, as my mother used to say!

  51. 51
    Ryan B. says:

For my other empath inquiry I would like to nominate the psychologist who wrote an article entitled “What is an Empath?: Signs and Traits.”

    [Link inserted by Blog Monitor]

  52. 52
    Ryan B. says:

This article was written recently by Hope Gillette.

It is even medically reviewed, no kidding. This article was medically reviewed by no less than Debra Rose Wilson, Ph.D., MSN, R.N., IBCLC, AHN-BC, CHT. So I guess it has to be true, every word.

  53. 53
    Ryan B. says:

Two parts of this article in particular really gave my eyebrows a workout.

    First this:

  54. 54
    Ryan B. says:

“Empathy involves being able to understand and relate to the emotional states of others. When you’re highly attuned to this form of perception, you may be what’s referred to as an empath.”

  55. 55
    Ryan B. says:

Where are all your fancy degrees Rose?

How come they can only come up with one empath gift, Empathy. Meanwhile little old you has found and researched 15 different empath gifts?

  56. 56
    Ryan B. says:

As if that wasn’t weird enough, here is another little gem from this article.

“An empath isn’t a formal designation. It’s a term used to describe a collective experience of heightened emotional sensitivity.”

  57. 57
    Ryan B. says:

Geeesh! I know for sure I’m am an empath. I know the names and definitions of many empath gifts that I have for sure, just as I know that the system of Empath Empowerment(R) has made an enormous difference for me.

  58. 58
    Ryan B. says:

Thank you for shedding light here because I’m sure as heck that I am not having “a collective experience of heightened emotional sensitivity.”

  59. 59

Isn’t that something, RYAN B? At the outset I’ll share my opinion that credentials as a clinical psychologist do not represent any kind of preparation to understand — let alone help — empaths.

  60. 60

What DOES Prepare an Enlightenment Teacher to Do a Good Job Helping Empaths?

Here’s my short list of criteria, something I’ve never published before.

  61. 61

    1. Any Empath Teacher MUST Personally Be an Empath

Maybe that’s obvious. But, according to my recent research of Psychtherapist Keir, she she isn’t an empath. Although she works as a psychotherapist. Honestly, the nerve!

  62. 62

Since by my estimate, 1 in 20 people was born as an empath, there’s hardly a scarcity, is there?

  63. 63

    2. Any Empath Teacher MUST Have a Minimum of Stage 3 Energetic Literacy

Empath gifts are about consciousness, and skill for an empath will impact how well that empath’s aura functions. Although professional psychologists may have a wealth of knowledge about mental health problem, living as an empath does not constitute a mental health problem. Not in reality, anyway.

  64. 64

Learning these skills can be easy, now that all of us are living in the Age of Awakening.

For one thing, a systematic online workshop series is available. Any person with normal mental health, and a willingness to learn the skills of energetic literacy, can learn these skills just fine.

  65. 65

Unless an Empath Teacher can research what’s happening in a client’s chakra databanks, there is no accountability. To be blunt, when a would-be Empath Teacher offers instructions that are irrelevant and ineffective, that teacher can learn the truth.

Otherwise? Fat chance. An effective Empath Teacher must be an expert at researching chakra databanks.

  66. 66

Ha! RYAN B., in your honor I’ve begun to develop a dedicated blogpost on the topic of standards for empath teachers.

That will be a better place to share this info, surely. Meanwhile, thanks for inspiring me to make such a list.

  67. 67
    Victoria says:

I am so grateful for Empath Empowerment, Rose.

There seems to be quite a lot of information on the internet victimizing empaths and making it seem like being an empath is a curse. It’s neither.

  68. 68
    Victoria says:

I learned to become a Skilled Empath effectively and quite effortlessly.

But I only realized what a gift and privilege it is to be born an empath when I learned how to do Skilled Empath Merge. Every time I do it, my heart of compassion opens up, for myself and others.

  69. 69
    Henry says:

I find the different chakra databank arrays very educational. They also make it easy to do an aura reading for a purpose that is meaningful, with many options to choose from.

There are many great examples at this article about chakra databank arrays in the first place.
