Consciousness Lifestyles 2026 will give you the latest estimate of what’s increasing, what’s decreasing. Plus, you’ll read – for the first time ever – practical ways to tell which consciousness lifestyle YOU have. Even if you never made a conscious choice about this, you do have one.

Welcome! This will be our fifth annual estimate of the popularity of different “Consciousness Lifestyles” in America. (If you live elsewhere in the world, current estimates may well be similar.)

Every human adult with normal mental functioning, does have a consciousness lifestyle. Therefore, percentages supplied in our annual Consciousness Lifestyle Estimates can prove quite useful. Helping you to understand more about the society in which you’re living right now.
When first-drafting this article, guess what I felt? Dread. Fortunately, the news is better than I expected. Sigh of relief!
And hey, before getting down to business, I have a very human story to share with you.
The Context for “Consciousness Lifestyles” Is How You ACT HUMAN
Something unexpected happened — and also didn’t happen — to me last night. I think this minor incident illustrates why consciousness lifestyles are so important.
- Important for your spirituality and mine,
- For our culture.
- Because we can transform the most everyday social occasions into gentle social connections. If we can summon up even the slightest interest in strangers.
Yesterday I went to Nordstrom’s Rack in search of a warmer winter hat and scarf. Although the selection wasn’t great, the discounts were fabulous. I nabbed a gray cashmere beanie and a plush scarf. That scarf was black and made of mostly acrylic but enough wool to feel “real,” if you know what I mean.
Then Came Time to Stand in Line at the Checkout Counter
At 5 p.m. the wait took 20 minutes. At this store, a long wait wasn’t unusual. What was?
Not a single person in line was talking with any other person, except for one pair of friends who gabbed together nonstop. In my usual way, I did small things to reach out to those around me: Looking at folks, smiling sometimes, trying (and, in this case, completely failing) to strike up a single conversation. Meanwhile, what were my fellow shoppers doing?
-Most were avidly focused on their mobile phones.
-Two strangers were still shopping. Urgently. Exploring every single impulse item near them in the checkout line. These women never even talked with each other, though obviously they had much in common.
– Were most of these folks in line paying attention to objective reality? Except for the chatty friends and the two frantic shoppers, maybe not.
– Had they ever tried to “Be Here Now“? That’s not a bad way to live sometimes!
Back in 2021, I published a blogpost on “Collective Attention Deficit Disorder.”
Compared to what was happening then, what I witnessed yesterday was even worse than five years ago.
Seems to me, your society (and mine) needs more people who take an interest in our fellow humans. When folks live with a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle, that comes automatically.
Folks, feel free to share your experience of this kind of thing. Where you live and work, do you notice many strangers who acknowledge you or other people? Do many of them seem as interested in people as their mobile phones?
Anyway, there’s some context. My companions in line might have had any of the not-great consciousness lifestyles you will read about here – except for the first one, the Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyles. Blog-Buddies, let’s explore all the consciousness lifestyles prevalent now.
What Are “Consciousness Lifestyles”?
At any given time, you have some everyday habits about how you use your spiritual awareness, your consciousness. Years ago I began to study consciousness lifestyles. Because they were emerging. Earlier, there hadn’t been any consciousness lifestyles. Adult humans were either:
- Okay [Now all these folks do have a consciousness lifestyle.]
- Not okay, due to alcoholism or taking drugs. [Now all these folks do have a consciousness lifestyle.]
- Not okay, due to severe mental health problems. [No consciousness lifestyles.]
How much simpler life was then! At least regarding how people used their consciousness, prior to December 21, 2012. The First Consciousness Era on Earth, which I like to call “The Age of Faith” lasted from the onset of human life until that normal-seeming date in 2012.
- What’s the big deal with that date? Nothing less than a worldwide Shift into the Age of Awakening – that’s what happened. Learn more about that in the link just provided.
- What if you’ve encountered mostly psychic-type info on the Shift? This next link can help you to question common myths about what really changed. Versus what didn’t!
Know it or not, like it or not – and you may come to like it very much – you are living in the Second Consciousness Era on Earth. Knowing some of the basics about today’s consciousness lifestyles can help you. In fact, my emphasis here will be practical. You’ll see.
More Consciousness Lifestyle Basics
Your consciousness lifestyle is a pattern, a subconscious habit. These “lifestyles” aren’t about what you eat or how you exercise. These “lifestyles” involve your consciousness. How do you routinely position your consciousness vibrationally? (Please, click on the link just provided if you’re not yet familiar with what this next term means: “Positioning consciousness vibrationally.”)
As a matter of fact, I’ve been blogging about consciousness lifestyles ever since 2014. (About a year after the Shift.) Working with Energy Spirituality clients and students, I learn more every year about consciousness lifestyles. Even if you’ve read all the previous installments of this annual series, you’re likely to learn something new today. And not just the current popularity estimates. Or the first-time published help for telling which consciousness lifestyle you’re living in now.
Does Our Culture Recognize Consciousness Lifestyles Yet?
Or Even Recognize that the Shift Happened, and We’re All in the Age of Awakening?
Sadly, not yet. Energy Spirituality® has grown into a leadership role. Still, I’m just one blogger. If my articles and books help you, please spread the word. If you comment on social media, that sure would help.
For perspective, right now I’ll google “Consciousness Lifestyles”. Wouldn’t it be helpful if the media reported on this? Or if today’s famous self-help leaders had relevant wisdom to offer you!
On the day I first-drafted this article, how many hits on my Google for consciousness lifestyles? 2.6 THOUSAND hits.
By contrast, how many hits for:
The latest news about Taylor Swift – 375 MILLION hits on my Google
And the latest news about Jay-Z – 355 MILLION hits on my Google
The latest news about Beyonce – 64.9 MILLION hits on my Google
In this article you’re going to learn plenty about the different consciousness lifestyles. Which just might be a bit more relevant to your emotional growth, your spiritual evolution, and your happiness.
What Is My Standing to Research Consciousness Lifestyles 2026?
For starters, I survived 2025. 😉
Even though my life is really good, 2025 was my second toughest year as an adult. (For perspective, my worst year ever was 1975.)
Anyway, I’ve had a front row seat, monitoring consciousness lifestyles since 2014. For more about standing, all four of the main specialties of Energy Spirituality are relevant to consciousness lifestyle research. To learn even more about my credentials, this next link documents some facts that may surprise you about my standing.
Now for Our Consciousness Lifestyle Research
Your consciousness lifestyle shapes your quality of life. Silently influencing all your relationships and the culture you live in. Which makes the knowledge in today’s article . . . a hidden factor that matters a lot.
Whichever consciousness lifestyle you have right now — that brings consequences. Either limiting your life or allowing you to use more and more of your full potential in life. So choose well, developing your chosen consciousness lifestyle.
Consciousness Lifestyles 1. A Highly Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle
19% of Americans in January 2026
For convenience, I’m grouping together all the following as “Highly Self-Actualizing” Consciousness Lifestyles:
Human-Based Spirituality & The New Strong &
TraditionalEnlightenment &
Age of Awakening Enlightenment
Read about each one in detail at the links just provided. In general, all count as self-actualizing.
A Highly Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle: Example
Suppose that you’re talking about the weather with one other person. It’s you and Hypothetical Gladys. You say, “We had a little light snow this morning.”
Regardless of how Gladys responds, you remain yourself. Her behavior is informative, about her.
So you reply to her words appropriately, as best you can.
What’s It Like to Be You?
With a Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle, your sense of self is strong and unusually integrated, compared with the other consciousness lifestyles we’ll summarize in Consciousness Lifestyles 2026. That means, in every social situation and under any circumstance, you feels like youself, deep down.
- A starter experience of personal integration happens in Human-Based Spirituality.
- That integration takes a big leap forward once somebody learns how to live The New Strong.
- After you receive Enlightenment Validation for Age of Awakening Enlightenment, you have the opportunity to grow at top speed. Helping to shape how you grow and learn as the person you are.
- Alternatively, after you receive Enlightenment Validation for Traditional Enlightenment, you won’t grow at all, personally. However, this is the more blissful version of Spiritual Enlightenment, where a person feels connected to God 24/7.
Regarding these four consciousness lifestyles, the first two result from making small choices, here or there. However, the last two consciousness lifestyles are a gift. When you’ve evolved enough to reach Spiritual Enlightenment, God gives it to you. Choosing the version that your soul prefers.
Why do you think Spiritual Enlightenment can only be a gift?
By all means, COMMENT below with your thoughts and questions about the role of free will in developing self-actualizing consciousness lifestyles.
The Advantages
Your connection to objective reality is strong.
If you’re not sure what I mean by “connection to objective reality,” just ask.
It’s standard for you to learn from your life every day, both what happens in objective reality and gaining more clarity subjectively. Note: This has nothing to do with theorizing with religious ideas, etc. More like, direct-and-vivid experience.
How About Emotional Growth, Spiritual Awakening, etc.?
Every self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle gives you an advantage for succeeding at any project you choose for personal development.
- Whether to break a bad habit
- Or start a new habit
- A Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle can also help you succeed at improving your health, your finances, your love life, etc.
Whichever Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle you’re in, you’ll grow faster than people with any other consciousness lifestyle.
Are you curious about what I’ve found in general with Energy Spirituality® clients who are living either in Human-Based Spirituality or The New Strong or Age of Awakening Enlightenment or Traditional Enlightenment? Just ask.
The Problems
You may over-estimate other people. How come?
Regardless of your consciousness lifestyle, it’s natural to assume, “That person is just like me.”
Wow, an all-time high so far, 19% of Americans, January 2026! But that still isn’t 100%, is it? So, pay attention to what, specifically, the people you meet say and do. It’s informative!
With a Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle, How to Improve?
There’s no general advice for somebody doing as well as you. Fortunately, you have a real-live Enlightenment Coach who offers personal sessions. My experience includes familarity with all the self-actualizing consciousness lifestyles. Might I suggest, then?
If you feel stuck, book an Enlightenment Coaching session and tell me you’d like to move forward on your path. I’d love to cocreate help for you.
2. Spiritual Addiction
45% of Americans in January 2026
The Spiritual Addiction Consciousness Lifestyle: Example
Suppose that you’re talking about the weather with one other person. It’s you and Hypothetical Gladys. You say, “We had a little light snow this morning.”
More likely, you’ll say something like,
- “How are your energies doing?”
- Or, “I’m vibing you out, and the news isn’t good, etc.”
If you like, ask for me to give you an example of Energy Talk that happened last week. It shocked even me. (Though Sam was being perfectly polite. He simply leapt from objective reality to energy in a way that expressed his consciousness lifestyle.)
The Advantages
You feel so smart, so wise. Probably you feel quite superior to people whose consciousness lifestyle is different from yours.
In this consciousness lifestyles, an individual’s interests usually amount to a short list of topics. Often idealistic seekers of truth, these folks may specialize in just one of the following. Although it is also possible to have many “spiritual” or “energetic” or “psychic” ideas. For example:
- Translating human experience into a supposedly superior language: Substituting Energy Talk, Psychic Talk, or Religion Talk.
- Living as a proud stoner.
- Making an effort to come across as very relaxed, perhaps assisted by CBD or other mind-altering substances.
- Taking many “spiritual” breaks daily for mindfulness.
- Chatting up one’s spirit guide or other favorite discarnate being. Often requesting guidance in daily life. Obeying that “sacred” guidance, as if this makes the person “spiritual” or “enlightened.” (Not so.)
- Practicing psychic development. Frequently consulting Tarot cards. Looking for signs and synchronicities. Alternatively, conspiracy theories may be the person’s point of reference for what is true versus what’s false.
- Often “upgrading” everyday experience, making it meaningful in terms of a spiritual or religious belief system, such as “Tony Robbins says,” or “What would Jesus do?”
- As a matter of principle, doubting facts. Scoffing at science. Despising “what ordinary people believe” . . . about just about anything.
- Doing all you can to live at a higher vibration.
- Attempting detachment or witnessing, due to certain Enlightenment teachings that possess what this spiritual teacher would call “Low Truth Value.”
The Problems
In terms of personal development, you’re stuck. Despite having the exact opposite opinion about how you are progressing in life.
- Without knowing what’s happening with positioning consciousness . . .
- While feeling perfectly “normal,”
- Spiritual Addiction prevents any person from making good contact with human objective reality.
Instead, you might be far more interested in astral life than in human life. (Again, without necessarily having a clue this is happening.)
Would any of you like me to go into more detail about how a person in Spiritual Addiction would typically make contact with objective reality? Just ask.
With the Spiritual Addiction Consciousness Lifestyle, How to Improve?
The good news is, I have developed a method for you to move into a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle, Human-Based Spirituality.
This method works really well and is very specific. Your best way to learn how to improve is to book a personal session with me for Enlightenment Coaching – that is, aiming to use your full potential in life. Your main idea for the session would be something like, “Tell me about my consciousness lifestyle, and how to improve it, if possible.”
Please, please, do not do the ever-popular WORK ON MYSELF approach. If anything, you might move deeper into the Consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction.
Might I suggest,? Don’t put off getting expert help. Over time, the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction can become really entrenched. One possibility is developing the no-exit Consciousness Lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction.
3. Psychological Overwork
3% of Americans in January 2025
The Psychological Overwork Consciousness Lifestyle: Example
Suppose that you’re talking about the weather with one other person. It’s you and Hypothetical Gladys. You say, “It triggered me how we had a little light snow this morning.”
The Advantages
As somebody living in Psychological Overwork (even if, perhaps, you’re unfamiliar with this term), what’s an advantage? You’re perfectly willing to talk with this stranger, Gladys. She may turn out to be an interesting case. Most people are, one way or another.
Personally, you view small talk about weather as kind of Rorschach Test, an inkblot test. Whatever Gladys says to you, you’re asking yourself, “What is she really trying to say?”
Many people are quite disturbed. Even a short conversation can allow you to make a pretty accurate diagnosis of what’s wrong with Gladys.
Understandably, then, the consciousness lifestyle of Psychological Overwork can make you feel superior. So knowing, so wise!
Of course, you know you’re progressing. Even if you don’t feel perfect yet — And that’s okay!
Note: You might wish to share your reaction to the popular phrase, “And that’s okay.” Either ask what I think or share your thoughts on this cliche from pop psychology.
The Problems
Living in your own world of intellectual superiority. Finding “ordinary” objective reality is just too tedious for words. The same goes for people who aren’t sufficiently aware, psychologically.
With the Consciousness Lifestyle of Psychological Overwork, How to Improve?
The good news is, I have developed a method for you to move into a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle, Human-Based Spirituality. This simple approach works really well, and is very specific. What’s your best way for you to learn this method? Book a personal session with me for Enlightenment Coaching. Your main idea for the session might be something like, “Tell me about my consciousness lifestyle, and how to improve it, if possible.”
Please, please, do not try the ever-popular WORK ON MYSELF approach. Akin to “Be my own psychologist.”
Incidentally, do you know why “Be my own psychologist” isn’t good for much? Other than busywork! Ask for my opinion. Then you can go ahead to analyze that!
No matter how talented you are at analyzing people psychologically, here’s a caution. It isn’t possible to think your way out of this limited, limiting consciousness lifestyle.
Might I suggest? Don’t put off getting this practical help. Over time, the consciousness lifestyle of Psychological Overwork can become really entrenched. Maybe limiting you for keeps.
4. Spiritual Shutdown
4% of Americans in January 2026
Spiritual Shutdown, the Consciousness Lifestyle: Example
Suppose that you’re talking about the weather with one other person. It’s you and Hypothetical Gladys. You say, “We had a little light snow this morning.” You could talk about the weather – only the weather -for half an hour. Afterward you’d feel like you’ve had a very satisfying conversation.
Even if Hypothetical Gladys is your next-door neighbor, and you’ve known her 10 years.
The Advantages
In the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Shutdown, staying safe matters most of all. Not changing. Being down to earth. People who talk about other things could be crazy. Or even dangerous. In this example, suppose that Gladys is also living in the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Shutdown. She might sprinkle her conversation with little asides and questions. Testing you, without appearing to be testing you. (She thinks.)
To Gladys, it’s very important to get clear about you and your loyalties. Gladys may believe ardently in the power of forgiveness. After this conversation, she may pray for your soul. Gladys may believe it’s righteous, having contempt for people whose lives are just plain wrong.
With this consciousness lifestyle, you value stability. Being dependably normal. Seeming normal to everybody who matters. That should be THE priority for everyone, yes?
Living down-to-earth could be really important to you. For many in your consciousness lifestyle, what else counts as a plus? Following an Age of Faith religion, such as living as an Evangelical. As though, for instance, every word of the Bible is literally true. Talk about stability!
Probably, folks in Spiritual Shutdown are the most confident people you know. They’re always positive that they’re right about things.
The Problems
Those in Spiritual Shutdown are the last to let go of old ways. Holding fast to beliefs from the Age of Faith. Besides, that, what makes this consciousness lifestyle especially distinctive?
Metaphorically speaking, folks in Spiritual Shutdown are like Swiss cheese — the only kind of cheese I know that has big holes built right in. Except that, regarding these folks, the holes symbolize one or more of the following:
- An extreme lack of curiosity.
- Unacknowledged holes in their understanding.
- Big gaps in their desire to pay attention.
- Unless you talk about literal things, familiar things, oops! That person may draw a blank.
- What does that mean, “draw a blank”? Look blank and say nothing. Maybe treat you as though you don’t even exist. As if you’ve just fallen off an edge of the flat Earth.
How Can You Improve Upon This Consciousness Lifestyle?
On the bright side, you can move out of this consciousness lifestyle. It’s not automatically a no-exit way of life.
5. The Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle
1.5% of Americans in January 2026
The Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle: Example
Suppose that you’re talking about the weather with one other person. It’s you and Hypothetical Gladys. You say, “We had a little light snow this morning.” You hardly care about her answer. You’ve gone through the motions, which is plenty.
The Advantages
If you’re in the Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle, you learn from energies within you. More than learning from your fellow humans. Why wouldn’t that be the case? Inwardly, you share life with 1 or more astral companions. These take turns at speaking for you, looking out through your eyes. These friendly astrals are educating you.
What’s your sweet little secret? One or more discarnate astral entities have been given permission by their human – you – to “Come on in. And stay for the rest of my life.”
The Problems
It will be hard to find people you trust . . . unless they have the same consciousness lifestyles. Also you’re unlikely to grow much, either emotionally or spiritually, for the rest of your life. Still, your life is so very interesting!
How Can You Improve Upon This Consciousness Lifestyle?
Sorry, but no. With the Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle, let’s be clear. By now you are sharing your sense of self with one or more astral beings. Akin to signing lifetime leases for permanent lodgers who will dwell in your home for keeps. Of course, these astrals stay in your aura, not your living room. Even if you move to a new apartment, they’ll move in right along with you.
This is one of two no-exit consciousness lifestyles. It will last for the rest of your life. You might as well enjoy this unusual experiment.
6. Extreme Spiritual Addiction
27.5 % of Americans in January 2026
The Consciousness Lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction: Example
Suppose that you’re talking about the weather with one other person. It’s you and Hypothetical Gladys. You say, “We had a little light snow this morning.” Whatever!
Technically, What’s the Pattern in Your Consciousness?
If you’re in Extreme Spiritual Addiction, you may notice very little about the inner lives of other human beings. Likewise, may not you care much about what you’re doing, with human speech and actions. Everything feels like an illusion, especially if you’re in that Fourth or Fifth Stage of moving into that consciousness lifestyle.
Yes, I have noticed a typical progression, when folks move into the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction. If you would like me to share the details, just ask.
The Advantages
In the initial stage of this progression, you feel high all the time. As for noticing people’s energies, you’ve become incredibly great at that. Yet how many people recognize that new greatness in you? Precious few.
Mostly that would be other people with your same consciousness lifestyle, whatever your name is for that. For instance, you’re:
- Among the chosen ones.
- In “Enlightenment.”
- Holier than God!!!
Ergg, it’s the second of the two no-exit consciousness lifestyles. It is also the only contagious consciousness lifestyle. What makes it contagious? If other people have one or more sexual encounters with you, a person in Extreme Spiritual Addiction.
The Problems
The only humans who really understand you have your same consciousness lifestyle.
As for how you happen to feel about the others? Unimpressed. Humans are such a lower life form, compared to your special angels. (Or whatever you call them.)
Some people admire you; they’re impressed by your wonderful sparkly vibes. But many other people steer clear of you, like you’re some kind of phony. What a sad problem they have, not recognizing those who are spiritually superior!
Meanwhile you go through the motions. Your wonderful team takes care of more and more about your life, as you settle into this consciousness lifestyle where you feel really special.
Congratulations on Reading this Consciousness Lifestyles Update for 2026
Regardless of what’s happening with others, you can make this your takeaway: Most of you readers can still develop a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle. Then you can make a positive contribution to your society. And to Collective Consciousness. Why not make this your priority in 2026?
Thanks to free will, you and I can powerfully pursue our ideals. However, we’ll only use our full potential if we’re living with a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle. (Good reason, I’d say, to share this blogpost.)
To be sure, some people you know may believe there is no such thing as empath. (10.8 MILLION hits just now on my Google.) How long will it be before they care about consciousness? Let alone care about anyone’s consciousness lifestyle?
Perhaps some or your friends may figure that personal development is something to pursue later. Like, after retirement. Because now it’s so much more important to play Candy Crush. Or to binge-watch the trendy shows. (Or to feel very “evolved” by doing a ton of Energy Talk.)
Look. In today’s research article, you’ve learned about the popularity of different consciousness lifestyles? Altogether, these findings are an improvement over last year.
Compare Today’s Findings with Previous Annual Estimates
By now, making these annual estimates has become a tradition for this Energy Spirituality® Blog. Compare for yourself.
- Consciousness Lifestyles 2025
- Consciousness Lifestyles 2024
- Consciousness Lifestyles 2023
- And Consciousness Lifestyles 2021
In Conclusion
Are you heartened by this year’s estimate? I am. Here’s a comparison with the numbers from last year.
1. Highly Self-Actualizing
- 19% of Americans in January 2026
- 14% of Americans in January 2025
My interpretation as the Founder of Energy Spirituality®: Improvement. More people are doing what it takes to move into a highly self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle.
- 45% of Americans in January 2026
- 38.7% of Americans in January 2025
My interpretation: Today’s culture encourages practices that bring on the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction. We need improvement to the quality of our Enlightenment Establishment. Particularly helpful would be developing good skills of energetic literacy!
Still, the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction isn’t permanent. Always hope!
- 3% of Americans in January 2026
- 15% of Americans in January 2025
My interpretation: Due to each individual’s new Consciousness Positioning Superpower, in the Age of Awakening, what could be happening? Many wisdom seekers who are stuck in the consciousness lifestyle of Psychological Overwork: They have been having a subtly different experience since 2025.
Unknowingly, they’ve been drifting in consciousness. Often they’ve drifted away from perceiving at a HUMAN Vibrational Frequency to an ASTRAL Vibrational Frequency. That would account for many seekers of psychological wholeness . . . moving into the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction. Just yesterday, I facilitated a session for a beautiful seeker of truth who has likely been doing exactly that.
- 4% of Americans in January 2026
- 5% of Americans in January 2025
My interpretation: Improvement! It is, perhaps, becoming less fashionable to remain stuck in the Consciousness Lifestyle of Spiritual Shutdown. Less fashionable every year since the Shift into the Age of Awakening!
It would be so easy for 1% of last year’s total in Spiritual Shutodwn to have moved into Spiritual Addiction or Psychological Overwork.
5. The Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle
- 1.5% of Americans in January 2026
- 1.3% of Americans in January 2025
My interpretation: Good news: Certain fads for energy healing and self-knowledge – fads that move folks into the Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle – appear to be decreasing in popularity.
6. Extreme Spiritual Addiction
- 27.5 of Americans in January 2026
- 26% of Americans in January 2025
My interpretation: Since this is a no-exit consciousness lifestyle for life, I wouldn’t have hoped for a decrease this year. I’m relieved that only 1.5% of America’s population has added to our estimate.
Two years ago I published an article that reassured me that this consciousness lifestyle really does end with the rest of a human incarnation. Then the eternal soul learns, and the regular human sense of self returns. This info comforted me greatly. You might want to take a look too.
What’s Most Important of All about Consciousness Lifestyles?
Regardless of what’s happening with others, your choices matter. For sure, you can make it your priority to develop a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle. In 2026 you can make a positive contribution to the percentage of excellent consciousness lifestyles in your society.
Thanks to free will, you and I can powerfully pursue our ideals. Yet know it or not? We’ll only use our full potential in life if we’re living with a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle. (Good reason, I’d say, to share this blogpost.)
Adapting to the Second Consciousness Era on Earth can help society, as well as our personal consciousness lifestyles. To solve social and political problems, it isn’t enough to pursue ideals from the Age of Faith, such as Be Positive, Pray More, Be Kind. These obsolete ideals cannot stop the rise of fascism in many parts of the world. Even for the sake of your consciousness lifestyle, it can help to learn how to live well in the Age of Awakening. These two how-to books can help:
Thanks for reading today’s consciousness lifestyle news, everyone.

Consciousness Lifestyles 2026. Which Do YOU Have?
Additions start at Comment #1

I am living the new strong consciousness lifestyle. You told me so.
I like it. I am glad to live the new strong.
Thank you, MELISSA. 🙂
A side benefit of having a personal session of Energy Spirituality® is that I can always tell you what your current consciousness lifestyle is. Please ask near the start of your session, so I can work that in.
Just commenting on the intro here before diving into the body of the article.
Thank you for continuing to sound the alarm related to “Collective Attention Deficit Disorder.”
I have grown to appreciate more and more the worrying trends highlighted by that article over the years.
As such, I couldn’t agree more with this statement:
“Seems to me, your society (and mine) needs more people who take an interest in our fellow humans.”
We can do our part, in little ways, to emphasize humanity and connection to other people.
And I think living like that leads to a much more interesting and fulfilling life than succumbing to technology addiction and its related perils.
You and me both, MARK.
Thanks for what you’ve written so far. I do think it’s an excellent idea to pause at any time while you read, comment, and then continue reading. There’s no requirement that you finish the whole article before you say your piece . . . about a piece of it.
Of course, MARK, I do hope you’ll share more of your reactions to the rest of the article, too.
Rose, I would like to put in a word of acknowledgement for all the formatting in your articles. The different styles for headings, main ideas versus subheadings.
Most readers may not notice. I sure do.
It’s not uncommon these days that I find technology, and products, over-designed. For instance I bought a pedometer to keep track of how many steps I take each day.
How hard did that have to be?
So annoying! That silly pedometer had me measure how long my stride had to be. Otherwise my step wouldn’t count.
I could have made it my life work to get the settings absolutely perfect. But why? I’m just a senior who wants to count my steps.
It’s pet peeve of mine how many people over-complicate.
You never do that, not to me.
With your weekly articles at the leading edge you manage to educate us about things that impact our consciousness, really have an impact.
And you’re not some theorist who makes s*** up.
You know whereof you speak. You use fabulous skills of energetic literacy and your work with Energy Spirituality clients.
I figure it must take a lot of you to present leading edge info, to help us with our consciousness no less, and it goes down pretty darned easy.
Personally I find that amazing. Just to go on record.
In this article you use formatting to set us readers up to know what is a main point, what’s a sub-point.
Considerate! Helpful! Refined! Smart!
I appreciate you, Rose Rosetree. I appreciate your blog and your amazing books, just saying.
Awe, MARTY T.! Thank you.
Oh, exciting article! Thanks for providing these updates every year, Rose! I’m happy that Highly Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle has gone up to 19%!
And I like the formatting too! I noticed that you keep improving it!
Sweet! Thank you, OSCAR MANUEL.
For example, in the middle of a conversation with a woman, she blurts out, hey “ it’s 1:11.” I used my humor, to gently redirect our discussion back to human based objective reality, ending the conversation and maybe limiting the future conversations.
Rose, thank you for this latest estimate of the prevalence of different Consciousness Lifestyles.
I’m particularly heartened by the significant rise in numbers of people with a Highly Self-Actualising Consciousness Lifestyle! That is a base of strength for humanity to build on, as we continue to adapt to the Age Of Awakening.
You’re welcome, THEODORE. It is heartening, our rise in numbers of people with a Highly Self-Actualising Consciousness Lifestyle.
Folks who can pay attention to objective reality – including the words that you say – normally.
Even if they don’t agree with everything you say, at least people:
– in Human-Based Spirituality
– or Living The New Strong,
Rose, how do you recommend we apply this information to?
I imagine it takes a bit of street smarts – practical real world skills to deal with these numbers.
Even if they don’t agree with everything you say, at least people:
– in Human-Based Spirituality
– or Living The New Strong, – or continuing to evolve within Age of Awakening Enlightenment,
– or enjoying bliss while in Traditional Enlightenment . . . .
If you talk with any of these people, ADRIAN, they’re capable of understanding the gist of whatever you have to say.
Understanding like adults. Not equally intelligent, nor equally likeable, but capable of understanding the words you speak in terms of objective reality.
More like how it used to be talking with other people before the Shift into the Age of Awakening, on Dec. 21, 2012, when everyday life worked differently. (Due to the Psychic Barrier, etc. Learn more about this from the how-to book I recommend most these days, “Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening.“)
Back then, people weren’t challenged to evolve more quickly. Since then, many have unintentionally put on the brakes for living in objective reality.
Back in the day, people related to concepts like Basic Human Decency. And UP. And DOWN. And Fairness.
Granted, objective reality wasn’t perfect then, no more than it is now. However, adults with normal mental functioning could talk together and understand the words being spoken.
Whereas now? People are actually MORE likely to translate your words instantly into either rainbows (or other energies – with the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction) . . .
Or else parse what you’ve said in order to pin down their dignosis of your neuroses (with the consciousness lifestyle of Psychological Overwork).
Always, during the Age of Faith – and in your memory before the Shift, ADRIAN and other Blog-Buddies – even then you sometimes encountered people who weren’t interested in anything you said.
Unless you were preaching to the choir. Or unless you had that person’s preferred color of skin.
Now though, so many fellow humans don’t really hear what you say, except in the most literal way. And why not?
Because they are living in a consciousness lifestyle like Spiritual Shutdown.
As for the many people sharing the streets with us, ADRIAN, so many strangers listen to other people like us, and we notice that listener looks identifiably human, has human ears, etc. Yet discarnate astrals within that stranger may be listening more actively than the human-looking person you’re talking with.
At least, that’s what happens when the human in question is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction or, more rarely, the Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle.
Like it or not, such humans amount to an estimated 29% of the people you talk to.
(How did I get that number? By adding the estimated 27.5% of the American population living in the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction . . . with the estimate of 1.5% living in the the Astrally Compromised Consciousness Lifestyle.)
Getting practical, though: If you’re living in a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle, you don’t waste your time trying to vibe out or analyze who has which consciousness lifestyle.
Doing that would amount to way more than your recommended 20 Daily Minutes of Spiritual Technique Time: that number of minutes being ideal for STAYING in your self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle. Or, if you’re not yet in Spiritual Enlightenment, you’re EVOLVING toward that.
In short, ADRIAN, responding to your first comment in this series from you – all to be published shortly, as a kind of comment conversation.
We’ve just considered the first “practical real world skill to deal with these numbers.”
Of you meant, deal with these PEOPLE with consciousness lifestyles that aren’t self actualizing. Right?
So the first skill, seems to me, is that you’re just talking to one person at a time. Not a statistic.
Assuming that my estimates are accurate, you will encounter these people most of the time.
And it makes sense to me that this knowledge can creep you out, especially when you encounter it in articles like this one.
But then you can just accept that this is the reality.
IMO, that sure is preferable to worrying.
Especially, accepting this reality is preferable to wondering if something is wrong with YOU. Due to the many blank looks and barely-there conversations that can happen on any given day.
Gladys’ consciousness lifestyle is HER business, not yours.
Sam’s consciousness lifestyle is HIS business, not yours.
I’m trying – rather than lamenting to take in all of this…as informative.
Rather than be surprised, I plan to pay attention to what people say and do, more than ever, because I can’t assume they are experiencing reality the same way I am.
Very wise.
Even better is not “trying” at all. Starting now you can just take in whatever people say or do as informative. In human ways.
The main point of knowing is that you don’t blame yourself when people act a little off. Because:
If 19% of Americans have a highly Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle, that means that 1 in 5 people that I talk to are doing well.
So then, the remaining 4 out of 5 people may say and do strange things?
Agreed!
When you notice strange things, no need to SCREAM. No need to fix. As folks say on Twitter, “Just keep scrolling.” (That is, keep on living. Rather than trying to change what is not yours to change.)
When 1 in 5 people that you talk to is doing well, enjoy your conversation.
For example, in the middle of a conversation with a woman, she blurts out, hey “ it’s 1:11.”
I used my humor, to gently redirect our discussion back to human based objective reality, ending the conversation and maybe limiting the future conversations.
Just fine!
Each of us finds our way.
What would I do in a situation like this?
Here’s an example of a slightly different way of responding. [And why.]
GLADYS: Hey, it’s 1:11.”
ROSE: Hmm. What does 1:11 mean to you? [Thus, I’m not going to share her reality that, as millions have believed during the New Age Years – and some still believe now – the time 1:11 on a digital clock has a cosmic “spiritual” meaning.]
GLADYS: Don’t you know? 1:11 is a great synchronicity. 1:11 is basically your spirit team hitting you with a “🤙🏼 she’s awake, send the download.”
ROSE: That’s interesting. So if you see that time on a digital clock, it is a synchronicity and something spiritually important is going to happen to you?
ROSE: Thank you for telling me what you believe. [This being what just happened in objective reality. Maybe an interesting reminder to Gladys, eventually, that 1:11 is not a fact in objective reality but a belief that some people have in their subjective reality.]
ROSE: I’m not a believer, but have a nice day. [End of conversation.]
I hear or read this phrase “And that’s okay.” often all over social media.
Would you please share what you think about it, Rose? Thank you!
PAUL, thanks for asking about “And that’s okay.”
First of all, I wonder how popular this phrase is. In my experience too, these words are very common.
Let’s google “And that’s okay”. Hmm, guess how many hits?
On my Google right now: 1.1 BILLION hits for “And that’s okay”.
Hugely popular, PAUL!
I’d like to share my perspective on this phrase.
Along the way, let’s consider three examples that might be familiar to people in the consciousness lifestyle of Psychological Overwork.
Example 1 for “And that’s okay.”
From an article called, “Not Everything Deserves Closure“.
The author is Tania T.
What’s her standing to write this article? Self-described: Hi, I’m Tania! I write sometimes, mostly about psychology, identity, and societal paradoxes. I also write essays on estrangement and mental health.
In other words, she has no professional standing to write about psychology, identity, societal paradoxes, estrangement and mental health. She just does it.
As a pop psychology writer, she’s good. I’d say that based on this one article. Here’s a quote from her in that above-named article:
As you may recognize, Blog Buddies, two words from that quotation are very important in pop psychology:
* Seeking RESOLUTION.
* Needing CLOSURE.
These don’t exist in objective reality, do they? Purely subjective. Both happen to be prized in psychotherapy. Outside of psychology and pop psychology, these are simply concepts. Theories.
Admittedly, these are key concepts in pop psychology, and maybe quite a lot of psychotherapy.
When the desired closure isn’t available, and a patient or client or reader still seeks resolution, there’s a certain phrase that is used to help clients: And that’s okay.
I interpret this as a consolation prize. The patient, whose path is pop psychology, can still move forward – even triumphantly – when totally stuck.
Yet closure and resolution can be obtained by decreeing in a loud, confident voice “And that’s okay.”
Example 2 for “And that’s okay.”
From an article called, “Pop Psychology Concepts that need Correction“. From the One Heart Counseling Center. The author is “adrianwhall.” Psychotherapists are on the staff of this counseling center.
Here’s a quotation from this Adrian:
Is what matters most that you get along with other people, no matter what they say? Then this advice from Adrian could be rated excellent.
Look, if I had to settle a disagreement I wouldn’t bring up the concept of Truth Value, even though this is a big deal in Energy Spirituality®. Conciliation is the goal for what Adrian’s writing about, seems to me.
However, PAUL and other Blog-Buddies, my goal with Energy Spirituality® is emotional growth and spiritual evolution.
In that context, Truth Value really matters, as in the link just supplied.
In some conversations, many values might matter more than getting along with everyone. For example:
* Debunking moral relativism.
* Or how some many people today have become so apathetic about standing up to MAGA in America, akin to, “Whatever you do, or don’t do, that’s okay.” I disagree. That’s why, as a citizen (not as a spiritual teacher) I post an action item daily on Facebook.
* Re-evaluating important values from the Age of Faith, values that are obsolete – so (in my view) they won’t help us much in the Age of Awakening.
In many situations, then, PAUL, “And that’s okay” is not a triumph but more of a cop-out. Personally, it could signal being satified with remaining stuck.
Example 3 for “And that’s okay.”
From an article called, “Pop Psychology Is Not Psychology: Finding the Grey Area“. The very articulate author is Samantha Hanson.
She describes herself as “a Licensed Professional Counselor with a specialty in Art Therapy.” Samantha Hanson also provides life coaching services.
Thus, this third writer is actually a therapist. Not a psychotherapist but a therapist.
I’m going to share a couple of quotations from the above-mentioned article. First:
Also:
PAUL and other Blog-Buddies, I really like how Samantha Hanson advocates for – in my words – using your mind and heart and intellect to “explore the grey areas.”
Of course, her training comes from practices that originated during the Age of Faith.
Although now every human alive is living in the Age of Awakening.
For therapists like Samantha Hanson, there’s no energetic literacy. There’s no ability to discern and permanently remove different kinds of STUFF from a client’s aura, such as we have in Energy Spirituality®.
Could it be that the gray areas (I prefer to use the American spelling for “gray,” rather than the British spelling for “grey”.) That said, starting over.
In Energy Spirituality®, we do have energetic literacy skills and we also use the trademarked systems of Energy Spirituality ENERGY HEALING.
Maybe that’s why, PAUL, if one of my clients is stuck, I will never offer the consolation prize-type assessment of and that’s okay.

Thank you for this, Rose. I teared up in relief.
As usual, what you’ve written here makes so much sense.
Sweet. NANCY O.
You’re welcome, and it’s good to hear from you. It has been a while.
Regarding the Highly Self-Actualizing Consciousness Lifestyle and its related problem:
“You may over-estimate other people.”
I’ll admit, I chuckled a bit here.
Not because it’s funny, but because that has definitely been my experience.
But, those ways people have disappointed me have also helped me grow.
I was actually telling a friend just the other day that I tend to give folks the benefit of the doubt by default. And I don’t think it’s a bad thing!
But, over time, I have gained much greater discernment about different relationships in my life (and personal sessions of Energy Spirituality have helped immensely), and I can effectively use my power (in objective reality) when I need to.
Still, it can sting when someone disappoints me by doing something that I think is just weird or wrong, something I would never consider doing to other people.
But, understanding Consciousness Lifestyles does help explain some of the really wacky things folks do these days, and that knowledge definitely helps me be more effective in day to day life.
I would say this knowledge isn’t “a survival skill,” but I think a “thrive-al skill” is more accurate!
MARK, what a wonderful follow-up to your earlier comments at this conversation. Thank you.
Agreed, understanding Consciousness Lifestyles can explain a lot.
How would I put this, btw?
Learning about another person’s Consciousness Lifestyle can help me to use discernment about a relationship. That can be a good thing.
Again, MARK, I appreciate your coming back (as I invited you to do) after you had read the rest of the article.
Fun, having these comment conversations!
Thank you so much for the annual “Consciousness Lifestyle” estimates, Rose.
I am relieved and excited to learn that, despite all the hardships and challenges we faced last year, there are improvements.
Especially in the first one “Highly Self-Actualizing” Consciousness Lifestyles.
Thank you for bringing this information as the founder of Energy Spirituality®.
Yes, this year we had good news. One cause could be people like you, intrepidly commenting on social media, in a way that makes it easier for new people to discover Energy Spirituality®.
Different resources are available. Never is there any pressure to do any particular thing, but folks can start anywhere with:
