Just telling the truth, is it even possible for you to stand out in already-saturated marketplaces?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How Madison Arnholt Indirectly <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Inspired This Article<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Madison is a confident young woman who offers her services as an empath &#8220;expert.&#8221; I met her because her article for empaths appeared near the top of my first page of hits, after I googled a topic of interest.<\/p>\n<p>After thinking about her article, I realized something: Worldly Wisdom skills can help you to sort through competing experts, helping you in two very different ways. Complementary ways.<\/p>\n<p>Before we get to our main event in this offbeat article, let&#8217;s take a closer look at what&#8217;s in it for you. Seems to me . . . .<\/p>\n<h2>These Days,<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> All of Us Need Worldly Wisdom<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We may need it more than ever in this time of AI and endless hype. At this time, many people are barely paying attention to reality. Often we can benefit from good skills of energetic literacy to help us tell, accurately,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"Consciousness Lifestyles 2025. New Reality Check on consciousness lifestyles, energy spirituality, energy spirituality on Consciousness Lifestyles, how to tell whether another person is in touch with reality\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/blog\/2025\/01\/06\/consciousness-lifestyles-2025-new-reality-checks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> what&#8217;s going on with them.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To make things worse, whatever our field of interest, we&#8217;re bombarded incessantly with shameless self-promotion.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It sure helps for us to use our Worldly Wisdom, and level up our skills with that, as this article aims to help you do.<\/p>\n<p>Since so many unqualified &#8220;experts&#8221; have very clever ways to persuade us to trust them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In particular, we really-really <strong><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"discernment skills, don't be gullible, manipulating people with half-truths\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/blog\/2023\/05\/15\/not-spiritually-awakened-merely-gullible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can benefit from discernment skills (like good skills of energetic literacy)<\/a><\/span>. <\/strong>I&#8217;ve used that discernment in order to write this article. <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"free aura workshop, aura reading course with Rose Rosetree, aura workshop Energy Spirituality, aura reading workshop, online workshops for aura reading\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/workshops\/energy-reading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>It would takes more than one quick article for me to teach you energetic literacy, <\/strong><\/a><\/span>but Worldly Wisdom is something you&#8217;ve got already. This article aims to add a bit to yours.<\/p>\n<h3>Fact Is, <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Many of Today&#8217;s &#8220;Experts&#8221;<\/span> Are Unqualified<\/h3>\n<p>Recently, I had a harsh reminder of this. You see,<span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"aura reading, you can read auras, how to read auras, 100 techniques for reading auras, succeed at reading auras\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/365819Aura_Reading_Through_All_Your_Senses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <strong>one of the four main specialties in Energy Spirituality is aura reading<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span> That is, energetic literacy.<span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">While another specialty<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"What Empaths Deserve, how empaths can help themselves, becoming a Skilled Empath, avoiding empath experts who aren\u2019t empaths in the first place, true empath experts can do Skilled Empath Merge\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/blog\/2025\/06\/19\/what-empaths-deserve-real-deal-empath-empowerment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> is the field of Empath Coaching<\/a>,<\/span><\/strong> which I founded in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>After stumbling upon Madison&#8217;s shocking article, something occurred to me. I decided to take a look at what other writers and teachers are offering empaths these days. As a result I published an article questioning, &#8220;<span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"Is that Empath Teacher Prepared to REALLY Help You, research on empath teachers, is that empath teacher qualified to help you, learning about which empath teachers aren\u2019t really qualified to help, discernment about empath teachers\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/blog\/2025\/09\/08\/can-that-empath-teacher-really-help-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You<\/strong><\/a><\/span>?&#8221; Then I spent over a month, taking a consumer&#8217;s look at one empath &#8220;expert&#8221; a day, questioning what 38 of them were really offering.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Only<strong> 2<\/strong> of those <strong>38<\/strong> experts were, personally, empaths.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s right, <strong>36<\/strong> out of <strong>38<\/strong> empath &#8220;experts&#8221; weren&#8217;t really experts at what they claimed to teach. They weren&#8217;t even beginners, let alone experts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can find particulars at thousands of comments at my blogpost about &#8220;Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?&#8221; Go ahead and read in detail about one unhelpful teaching after another. Doing this research project, one contributing factor immediately became obvious: few of these &#8220;experts&#8221; had any background knowledge that prepared them to help empaths. For instance, one of them considered herself qualified to publish her book for empaths when her credentials consisted of what? Studying textile design and doing freediving.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Btw, speaking of being qualified, what is<em> this author&#8217;s standing<\/em> to write any article about the standing of an empath &#8220;expert&#8221;? You have the right to learn about my background, so scroll down to &#8220;<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em>Rose Rosetree&#8217;s Standing to Use Energetic Literacy and to Evaluate Empath Skills<\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Also I&#8217;ll give you fellow self-help nerds this happy announcement. After the section called Worldly Wisdom #5, I&#8217;ll stop inviting you to comment and go full throttle into a technical analysis of one technique from Madison. Of course, you&#8217;re invited to comment about anything in this article, that included.<\/p>\n<h3>Read If You&#8217;re an Entrepreneur or a Consumer or Both<\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008000;\">What Is an Empath,<\/span> Anyway?<\/h2>\n<p>Here&#8217;s my perspective as the founder of Empath Empowerment\u00ae. An empath is a person who has at least one consciousness gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be another person.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every born empath has at least <em>1 lifelong gift<\/em> for directly experiencing what it is like to be another person.<\/li>\n<li>Altogether, I&#8217;ve <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"Which Type of Empath Am I, 15 empath gifts, which empath gifts do I have, what kind of empath am I, Empath Empowerment, become a Skilled Empath\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/blog\/2016\/05\/30\/15-empath-gifts-skills-empath-empowerment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>identified 15 different empath gifts.<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Every born empath is <em>unskilled<\/em> &#8211; not knowing how to make good use of that talent.<\/li>\n<li>Yet every unskilled empath can learn how to become a Skilled Empath, including learning how to do <em>Skilled Empath Merge.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>There is only one kind of empath, in terms of what it means to be an empath. True, there are different empath gifts. Yet the process of helping an unskilled empath to become a Skilled Empath is <em>identical<\/em> for every single kind of empath gift.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By contrast, in her article, does Madison bother to define EMPATH? She supplies just one sentence, and it&#8217;s more of a question than a proper definition. Still, that&#8217;s all she gives her readers. To Madison&#8217;s credit she put her limited definition right in the first sentence, so it was easy to find. Here I&#8217;ll add italics.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Have you always thought of yourself as <em>an empath, someone who deeply feels other people\u2019s energy<\/em>?&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Two Very Different Definitions, Clearly<\/h3>\n<p>Seeing that juxtaposition might help you realize: For you as a consumer, consequences flow from how a person defines her or his job.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to the belief that&#8217;s fashionable today, <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"Which Type of Empath Am I, 15 empath gifts, which empath gifts do I have, what kind of empath am I, Empath Empowerment, become a Skilled Empath\" href=\"https:\/\/kingsofar.com\/2014\/10\/14\/every-idea-is-a-good-idea-tom-sturges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>every idea is a good idea<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, hello! I prefer to pay attention to the truth value of an idea. Some ideas <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"face reading with high truth value, aura reading with high truth value, body language with high truth value, skilled empath merge with high truth value, high truth value\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-rosetree.com\/blog\/2022\/12\/12\/seek-high-truth-value-newsletter-energy-spirituality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>have much higher truth value than others.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> Coming <\/span>Next? What Can <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Help<\/span> You?<\/h2>\n<p>Regarding empath &#8220;expert&#8221; Madison Arnholt, in the following four sections, we&#8217;ll take a good look at her qualifications.<\/p>\n<p>Toward the end of each of these section, I&#8217;ll ask you two questions. One for you as a Consumer and the other for you as an Entrepreneur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>Answer these questions on your own. For even better learning, COMMENT here with your answers. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>There&#8217;s good reason why this one-person blog has over 163 THOUSAND comments. Very likely, those who respond here gain considerably more than those who don&#8217;t. And, of course, I&#8217;ll respond personally to whatever you express.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>For You as a <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Consumer<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Worldly Wisdom can help you enormously as a consumer. As you go through this detailed look at Madison&#8217;s professional skills, remember this: Sure, the person who proudly hangs out a shingle feels ready. But in a Worldly Wisdom way, is that person qualified? As a consumer, you have the right to assess.<\/p>\n<h3>For You as an <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Entrepreneur<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Whether you&#8217;re starting your own business<\/li>\n<li>Or YouTubing<\/li>\n<li>Or Writing Your Book<\/li>\n<li>Launching Your Podcast, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No doubt you&#8217;re excited to make your mark in your chosen field. It&#8217;s tempting to simply authorize yourself. However, long-term, your success will be greater if you ask-and-answer two questions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Are you really qualified to do that yet?<\/li>\n<li>Or do you mostly <em>feel<\/em> qualified?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Also, some of us have the idea that actual skills don&#8217;t count for much. Instead, it&#8217;s common to believe that success depends on making a lot of noise, having a great personality,\u00a0 looking perfect &#8211; or paying a ton to advertise.<\/p>\n<p>Seems to me, answering the questions that follow can help you entrepreneurs to do what? Choose a more organic, sustainable way to build your client base.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Meet a Sample<\/span> of Madison&#8217;s Work for Empaths<\/h3>\n<p>This fresh young face has written an article on &#8220;How to Protect Your Energy.&#8221; I found her through a Google search on &#8220;<span style=\"color: #cc99ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #cc99ff;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=protecton+for+empaths&amp;sca_esv=c311fd178b8510f8&amp;ei=UC6KaLKKBoCu5NoP-qGXiQ4&amp;ved=0ahUKEwiy8rbJ5-SOAxUAF1kFHfrQJeEQ4dUDCBA&amp;oq=protecton+for+empaths&amp;gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiFXByb3RlY3RvbiBmb3IgZW1wYXRoc0gAUABYAHAAeAGQAQCYAQCgAQCqAQC4AQzIAQCYAgCgAgCYAwDiAwUSATEgQJIHAKAHALIHALgHAMIHAMgHAA&amp;sclient=gws-wiz-serp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Protection for Empaths<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span>&#8221; As an empath coach, I <strong><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"empaths do not need protection\" href=\"https:\/\/rose-rosetree.medium.com\/empaths-are-you-protected-fb4f56b4c6d2?sk=6d64351719ea011dca8857290cb7ab1c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">don&#8217;t believe that empaths need protection<\/a><\/span>. <\/strong>Instead, I help empaths by <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"Empath Empowerment\u00ae, gain Empath Empowerment\u00ae on Goodreads, Empath Empowerment\u00ae for beginners, Empath Empowerment\u00ae how-to, become a Skilled Empath, learn real deal Empath Empowerment\u00ae\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/41677168-empath-empowerment-in-30-days\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>teaching the system of Empath Empowerment\u00ae.<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0 My students do just fine, without needing to worry about protecting themselves. Still, I was curious to learn about Madison&#8217;s point of view. I sure did.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Worldly Wisdom #1<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h2><strong>Madison&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Professional Qualifications\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Frankly, Madison Arnholt shocked me when, <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.madisonarnholt.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>at her website, she summarized<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>her professional qualification: She<span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.madisonarnholt.com\/work-with-me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> is an intuitive life coach.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. In case you&#8217;re wondering:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;An intuitive life coach is someone who supports you in accessing your intuition and releasing anything seemingly blocking your clarity and peace. Intuitive life coaching is great for someone who knows it\u2019s time to trust the wisdom within themselves, rather than seek wisdom from others.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My approach to intuitive life coaching isn\u2019t like getting a psychic reading or doing reiki. I\u2019m not here to heal you or tell you the steps you should take. All of the transformation happens from you, within you. I\u2019m just here to hold the space for you . . .&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She has worked with clients &#8211; however many &#8211; for five years: <a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.madisonarnholt.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>5+ years of helping clients around the world.<\/strong><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Regarding her offerings, Madison concludes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each of these offerings are [sic] here to support you in living a more intuitively aligned, joyful &amp; present Life. If it feels aligned, I&#8217;m excited to work with you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Rose Rosetree <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Comments<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Look, let&#8217;s pay attention to this: Madison&#8217;s background consists of working as an &#8220;intuitive life coach.&#8221; Not a certified life coach, but her own intuitive version. She doesn&#8217;t even pretend to have any particular expertise at helping empaths.<\/p>\n<p>I do think it&#8217;s telling that, on her website, she doesn&#8217;t name a single empath teacher of any kind.<\/p>\n<p>Something else in her bio may indicate a certain lack of respect for rigor, intellectual property, and credentials: Madison doesn&#8217;t capitalize &#8220;Reiki.&#8221; As you&#8217;ve read above, &#8220;My approach to intuitive life coaching isn\u2019t like getting a psychic reading or doing reiki.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Haven&#8217;t you heard of Reiki, Blog-Buddies? Who hasn&#8217;t heard of Reiki? Who doesn&#8217;t know that Reiki is a distinctive system for energy healing? <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.georgianamoncktonreiki.com\/the-history-of-reiki.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Being thousands of years old, it predates American trademarks.<\/a><\/strong><\/span> At least we can show respect for Reiki traditions by capitalizing the term.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Questions for You.<\/span> Add Your Worldly Wisdom<\/h3>\n<p>AS A CONSUMER<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>What do you think it means that Madison doesn&#8217;t acknowledge any books or teachers or learning that equipped her to help empaths? <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>At best, her blogpost includes a pretty shocking left-handed compliment to other empath teachers. If you&#8217;d like to know what I mean, just ask.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>AS AN ENTREPRENEUR<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>There&#8217;s a long history of entrepreneurs NOT acknowledging anyone. Maybe it can help them seem fabulously brilliant. On the other hand, what do you think of Entrepreneur Madison<\/em><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.madisonarnholt.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> saying this about her objectives when helping her empath clients?<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>&#8220;Welcome to a space where your joy, wellbeing and alignment are not an afterthought, but put first.&#8221; So she has nothing to teach?<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Worldly Wisdom #2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h2>Using Her <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">Appearance<\/span> as a Sales Tool<\/h2>\n<p>Madison&#8217;s bio is hard to find. As an adult, I worked for him and learned from him. Only in 1996 did I found Energy Spirituality\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p>Over the decades, as you can imagine, I&#8217;ve seen spiritual teachers and self-help\u00a0 experts come and go. Sadly, the usual self-reported questionnaires and psychological assessments are inadequate for discerning who is, or isn&#8217;t an empath.<\/p>\n<p>Seems to me, empaths are unusual because of what their consciousness spontaneously does.
